Privacy Policy for 432Hz Converter Extension
Your privacy matters. This policy explains how our Chrome extension handles your data.
Last updated: October 13, 2025
Our Privacy Commitment
432Hz Converter (also known as "Frequency Tuner") is a privacy-first browser extension that processes audio locally in your browser. We do not collect, store, transmit, or share any of your personal data, browsing history, or audio content.
What We DON'T Collect
No Personal Information
We do not collect your name, email address, IP address, or any personally identifiable information.
No Browsing History
We do not track, record, or monitor the websites you visit or the content you view.
No Audio Content
The audio you listen to is processed entirely within your browser. We never upload, store, or access your audio content.
No Usage Analytics
We do not use any analytics tools or tracking scripts to monitor how you use the extension.
No Third-Party Services
We do not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
What We DO Store
The extension stores minimal configuration data using Chrome's storage sync API. This data is automatically synced across your Chrome browsers when you're signed into your Google account, providing a seamless experience across devices. However, this data is never transmitted to our servers or any third parties — it's handled entirely by Google Chrome's built-in sync infrastructure.
Your Frequency Preferences
Your selected target frequency (e.g., 432Hz, 528Hz) and saved presets are synced across your Chrome browsers via Google's sync infrastructure, so your preferences follow you across devices.
Extension Settings
Basic configuration like whether the extension is enabled or disabled, and any interface preferences you've set.
Important: Settings sync is handled entirely by Google Chrome's built-in infrastructure. We never access, collect, or transmit your preference data. Google's sync service encrypts your data and you can disable sync at any time in your Chrome settings.
How the Extension Works
Local Audio Processing
The extension uses the Web Audio API built into your browser to modify the pitch of audio in real-time. All audio processing happens locally on your device — no audio data is ever transmitted over the network.
How It Accesses Audio
The extension intercepts HTML5 audio and video elements on web pages to apply frequency conversion. This is done using content scripts that inject audio processing code into the page context. The extension only modifies playback — it never captures, records, or stores the actual audio content.
Why We Need Permissions
activeTab & <all_urls>
Required to inject audio processing code into web pages and access HTML5 media elements on any site you visit (like YouTube, Spotify Web, SoundCloud, etc.).
storage
Used to save your frequency presets and extension settings locally on your device.
web_accessible_resources
Allows the extension to load audio processing modules (AudioWorklet processors) that perform the actual frequency conversion within the Web Audio API context.
Data Security
No Network Transmission
The extension does not make any network requests to external servers. All functionality is self-contained within the extension code.
Browser Isolation
Your preference data is stored using Chrome's isolated storage API, which is only accessible to this extension and is protected by Chrome's security model.
Easy Data Removal
You can delete all extension data at any time by uninstalling the extension from Chrome. This will remove all locally stored preferences.
Third-Party Services
This extension does not integrate with, connect to, or share data with any third-party services, including:
- No analytics or tracking services (e.g., Google Analytics)
- No advertising networks or data brokers
- No cloud storage or backup services
- No social media platforms
- No external APIs or web services
Children's Privacy
Since the extension does not collect any personal information or data from any users, it is safe for users of all ages, including children under 13. We do not knowingly collect, store, or process any data from children or adults.
Your Rights and Control
Complete Control
You have complete control over the extension. You can disable it, uninstall it, or reset its settings at any time through Chrome's extension management interface.
Data Deletion
To delete all data stored by the extension, simply uninstall it from your browser. All locally stored preferences will be removed immediately.
Transparency
The extension's source code is designed to be transparent and auditable. Chrome Web Store reviews all extensions before publication to ensure they comply with privacy and security standards.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in the extension's functionality or to comply with legal requirements. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
